My painting process offers a visual analogy for evolutionary systems, where complexity arises through countless incremental changes rather than centralized design. Layers of paint settle, are interrupted and reworked, with traces of earlier states remaining visible. The resulting forms reflect emergence over extended time scales, as order develops through interaction rather than intention.
